The gate on the western end is closed and locked. There was a US government grader parked on the ridge, and the road down to Buck Island was freshly graded. Don't know exactly how it got in there. But it would appear that the BLM wants to maintain their roads. Also, the house next to the rock barn down near Cache Creek has been demolished.

I heard that gate was locked a few days ago- It was unlocked on Memorial day. The grader was in that spot on Mem. day, and there was a backhoe down by the stone barn.
