Going to watch this very closely because I too have been contemplating this swap. I'm just waiting for my 950 engine to grow old and die which, if all indications are correct, might just be another 50000 to 75000 miles!
I guess I've got some riding to do.
So many people have made mention of how the stock 950 engine is already a great dual sport engine and, if anything, all it needs is more low end.
My opinion...It's a 950cc V-twin! It's got PLENTY of low end! Frankly, the kind of power that the RC8 provides makes me drool. If you're riding technical singletrack, short shift and lug the RC8 in a range where it'll be docile. When you hit the pavement and it's time to disturb the peace, let her sing in the higher rpm's where the full 150 hp is available
