Speaking of which....Blue Ridge Parkway, July 4th, 2010

Test running the Strom for the ride out to WestFest.

Before you can get to the parkway.....





I even got to ride with a couple of inmates up on the VA side of the line. Ogribike on the airhead and I forgot the gentleman on the strom's screen name.



The Southern Virgina portion has a lot of rolling farm land.



sometimes I snap pics on the fly....



...sometimes I stop and smell the flowers.









Look at those nice new shoes she's wearing.









Then I stopped for lunch at Freebornes, the home of this years Eastern Rendezvous, and had a chance meeting with dlrides. Who was out for a cruise on his old flat head hog!





Let's see how hard that thing is to kickstart?




Approaching Grandfather Mtn the Holiday traffic was really starting to cramp my style.





I stuck with it for a while longer and it had thinned out by the time I got to Chestoa view.



There's Table Rock in the distance...there are two gorges between me and it here.









Headed back through the foothills......I still had a Fourth of July party to go to!!





The owner of this winery adopted a couple of GSDs that my wife had helped rescue!
