patobravo, a most excellent teardown report - thank you.

I am not sure if you've seen the eBay dimmer switch I'll be using which will give a 0-100% adjustment. I'm also going to wire up the LED lights in a way that some other, far more expensive lights are designed. Namely the dimmer lets you set whatever brightness level you desire at the time, however, flicking on the Hi Beams will bypass the the dimmer, switching the LED lights to full brightness. I believe this can be done with a simple/standard 5 pin relay. The functionality of turning the LEDs on from an On/Off switch or together with the Hi Beams will be done via a SPST switch (mode selector).

Anyway, here is the dimmer switch from eBay ($16), all I've done to make it easier to mount on my bike is "split" the POT from the PCB (as you'd expect the heat sink part of the IC is the output -Ve, so no issues about it shorting out on the frame).
