For $307.00, a pair of these might be lighter and look / work better. You would have to paint the inside so you stuff doesn't turn black from rubbing raw aluminum.

You can get a set of racks from Happy Trails or SW Mototech.

If you have the money the complete Happy Trails setup would be the way I'd go if going hard cases.

I have Wolfman Expedition Dryline soft bags and their DR racks on my bike. Couldn't be happier. Two minutes on, two minutes off and bone dry.
