The church you visited at Kazbegi was the Tsminda Sameba church, I was there in 2006 and spent about 2 1/2 months in the Republic of Georgia primarily in Tbilisi but I did make it to Kazbegi as well as Stalins home town of Gori.
Great pictures, made me miss my time there with my Georgian friends. Loved the Katchapuri and the Chacha kicked my ass!
That is some mean stuff! Did you get to try some of their real wine from the Saperavi grape? Pretty good actually.
