PCQ: French Meadows to Highway 88 131 miles



Next time, we would stay at Hell Hole instead.
It’s only $5 (no water) and we would have had it all to ourselves.






This section of the PCQ is mostly pavement.
It really sucked.
There’s all kinds of good dirt around here...someone needs to draw up a new route!



BigWan took me here just for the photo op.
(He had been here once before, on a Gold Country Dual Sport ride)

We were so sick of the slab, we started to improvise.
This one looked good...






























The trail was pretty much washed out - most of the road was gone.







We found a workaround and continued...






Hey, is that bear scat?














Uh oh. This pile was really fresh...just riding near it, we could smell the aroma of berry jam!







We kept riding a little further...







Okay, it’s probably not a great idea to sneak up on bears, in the bush...
We stopped here and turned around.







Washed out road from the other side...








On the way back, we noticed this for the first time...





Crap.







Let’s get out of here!
