Thank you for all the advise so far. To answer a few of your questions about what may have happened to my bike.
First, the handguards are not the problem as I ditched the p.o.s. stock ones asap and put on some Magura bars with some nice solid Cycra aluminum handguards (absolutely no clearance problems or fears of busting a lever or worse, mastercylinder, during parking lot drop or even a hard get off).
Second, fluid levels are all within range.
Third, I was already done braking through the corner (no soft toe on the pedal or finger dragging the lever) and hard on the throttle exiting the corner when I immediately felt that the engine was dragging hard and the bike was slowing down fast. This is the point I pulled in the clutch and everything came to an abrupt stop.
Fourth, I will run it down to the shop today and plug it in (being that no dumby lights came on the dash during the little episode, I'll bet nothing shows up in the memory of the bike). And of course both shops I called said the same thing "Never heard that one before".
Finally, I do have a radar detector and an ear piece, but the Hardley worth a sh#t Davidson moto cop actually triggered me (I got one quick hard series of beeps and then nothing till I got to the intersection and he already had his bubble gum on).
I am still wondering if I was overriding this bikes capabilities, if so, good bye to BMW as I was truely not riding that crazy hard. Someone else mentioned that brake pads can swell when hot. I for one have never experienced/heard of this and find this therory hard to swallow unless possibly there were some connection to the servo assist or ?ABS?... Another thought was overheating the fluid. Now this has caused my race bikes brakes to fade in the past but never the opposite.
Oh ya, enjoyed the jokes and advise on taking care of the ticket part of the problem.
Thanks again guys,
Joel
