Day Three (cont'd):

The ride up from the "dam Rancho", the location with excellent ubication varied from sand and rock double-track to shoreline with sand, rocks, shells, and flotsam...and took less than a half-hour to the turn-off into a pretty canyon with lots of deep sand....

I waddled and swayed my way along through this crap with only one real "HOLY F#@K" moment when I was spun around 120 degrees ....but kept it upright...

This was all part of Baja fun, I reminded myself

It was only about 15 minutes before the Sea of Cortez smiled at me...David was already there. I could only assume he was savoring his memories of previous times here...

More fridge flotsam....really amazing how they float so far, as this is at least 15 miles away from the mouth of the Mulege River...

David hiked up the hill behind us a bit to explore an abandoned mine site...

Some type of collecting basin is my guess...

And a view from the hill...

A view to the north from the shore...

And to the southeast

And a serious security breach...

We hung out on the beach for a while...one of those times where you wished you were prepared for a few days of camping...and just enjoying the isolation and calm.

But, the sandy wash beckoned our return down the peninsula so we would make it back to Mulege before dark...

The shadows were getting longer...
