Jack and I didn't ride to the Center for Birds of Prey yesterday, but I ride out there all the time to snap pics of Raptors. By far, these are the animals that fascinate me the most. I can't believe I've only posted one pic in this thread so far, so I'm gonna rectify that right now.
BIG, majestic fellow. Has to be hand fed because he has some sort of spinal injury. He can't bend down to pick up food. Oddly enough, he flies unhindered by the injury.
And to give you an idea of just how big this fellow is, and how big the accompanying talons are as well....

silent in flight, as are all owls. Frikkin' eerie.
Great Horned Owl...a young one, but his talons were no less impressive.
