The old oils were pretty full of dirt. They look to have been coloured - maybe blue on the left compression side (which is 10w Spectro oil) & clear on the right rebound side (5w Spectro). I didn't pull the springs
I've put in 15w 410mls on the left compression side (pretty rasberry jam coloured) & 10w 440mls on the right rebound side (blue colored). Definitely feels much more damped (maybe too damped?). I'll need to test.
Also had a go at getting a bit more life from the rear brake pads. There was a lot of dirt in there. Cleaned & deglazed them with a wire brash & sandpaper. Realistically I need to replace them with softer shoes. I also need to replace the plastic inspection port covers, which have always been missing & have let in dirt & water.
Attempted a speedo repair. The magnet jumped ship at Moleworth, but the speedo was playing up prior to that. I think I might need a new pick up. A replacement magnet wasn't doing anything.
