The Sporty has always been my favorite Harley. I put more than 100K on a 97 883. To me it is the last of the standards. Good for just about anything. Everything else seems specialized nowadays. The simple engine/trans combo and the cradle frame are great. I think you will do fine. Mine went trough some mild off roading and soft sand in the CA desert with no mods at all. Yours should do great. If only Harley had someone that looked forward (Buell) instead of backward (Willie G n company), then all of us rednecks could be riding American Iron.
