Week before last, I took my shiny new Versys (with less than 250 miles on her) on some dirt roads and easy trails in the Richloam riding area in central Florida.

It was one of those glorious spring days, and the Versys and it's stock street tires handled some light dirt with amazing aplomb. But worrying about dropping her made me as nervous as a whore in a church pew though!!!

This is listed on the map as a paved road...

Easy graded dirt road...

This was a really fun section. Perfect for the Versys, but a bit challenging, with some soft sand...

4

Nice two-track...

The Versys in it's natural habitat...

I hate sand...

More nice two-track...

All in all, the Versys does great on anything with decent traction. When I was in some deeper sand, it was scary with the street tires. She still self-corrects, if you can relax and avoid fighting with your upper body. I'm a dirt newbie and have a hard time when things get squirely. I almost dropped her once but recovered. I think a pair of Pirelli M-61s (correct?) Edit: MT-60s would make a world of difference.
