Thanks for the advice. After reading through several threads, I have concluded that replacing the contacts is the route for me. Heading out for the Continental Divide Ride this year with 6 friends and I just don't want to try something new. Even with the documented flaws in the contacts, I have 20K on the original pump and am happy with it.

For me, everything else requires some modification that I don't want to make and I a concerned with a circuit board and optical sensor being submerged in water. Maybe it wouldn't be an issue, but not for me. Simple and standard is better in my book.
