In Michigan, it is not uncommon for people to put a moped sticker on a scooter that has more than 50cc. Above 50ccs requires insurance, license plate and cycle endorsement. Under 50 only requires a 3 year $15 sticker.
Speaking of Florida, my brother and his brother in law rented scooters in Key West when on vacation. His BIL gets on the thing, floors it, does a flying W across the parking lot and crashes into a parked car. Wrecks the scooter, breaks his wrist and collar bone and puts big dent in the car. Total idiot.
It couldn't possibly be BILs fault. That scooter must have had excessive power
. We need to have some more laws passed to protect us from these extreme hazards.
