Flat plate flexes and bends very easily, compare a diving board vs a canoe, both similar weight/m and similar materials.......

if you can get a feeler gauge between the plate and original mount when the bike is on the mainstand, I bet you cant get the same thickness of gauge in there when the bike is on the sidestand.
Of course it will, try and flex a 6 inch piece scaffold board; force need is far greater than a 6 foot long board. I wasn't comparing the strength of an I beam but the material, for me itís the best solution, do you agree its stronger than ally, carbon fibre is incredible strong in complex shapes but not so much in flat sheets, titanium just too expensive. Iíll try the gauges for you.
