Why not mount the top left bolt into the side case for additional support (bottom bolt reversed/counter sunk like it is now to protect the bottom of the case from cracking). It would take a heck of a blow with double steel supports to cause enough flex in the top bolt to crack the case ???
You could do that, an added bad design is the alignment. I can only assume KTM didnít use shouldered bolts to gain more tolerance. The third bolt goes through the frame, case and frame so kind of sandwiching the fragile case material. Iíd rather bend the side stand plate or break the stand itself rather than cause any damage to the case. Thatís a major rebuild or weld job.
