Lookin' forward to more of your trip report. Might have to hit you up for some dirt road recommendations between Dinosaur & Steamboat as I might be heading that way next month.

The only way I can recommend from experience is the Sand Canyon/Echo Park/Yampa Bench/14N gravel road that runs 40 miles all the way through Dinosaur. You can see pictures in the ride that started this thread. You could actually follow the rest of my route through Meeker and over the Flat Tops Scenic Byway and then turn North on 131 when you get to Yampa. That'd take you right to Steamboat and you can make pretty good speeds on those roads.

As far as day trips out of Steamboat, 100 looks like a pretty good day loop heading South off of Rabbit Ears Pass and then back on the highway. Or Buffalo Pass might be pretty good if you take 36 out of Steamboat, to 38, to 60. There's a pretty big wilderness area to the North of Steamboat, so no riding there. Strawberry Park Hotsprings are totally worth the money in Steamboat. I took my hot ass Argentine G/F I had many moons ago there in the winter. Highly recommended.

Business or fun going to Steamboat? That's doable for a weekend ride from Denver if you wanna do some exploring.
