Red Hill

Red Hill is one of the Hood River's Upper Valley Gems.
As many times as I've been up there, there is always someting new.
........Less than 10 miles from home

Today's ride was FS1660, a nasty, rocky old spur road just off of FS1630.
1630 is just after the gravel pile on the main FS16 up from Parkdale.
It takes you straight to heaven, I tell ya
Have you heard that before ?? I'm sorry........
There are LOTS of roads around here that do this for me

At the end of THIS road to heaven....

is an interesting set of old foundations.....

There were TWO buildings way the heck up here a LONG time ago.
Gonna have to research this one. Why were they there? When were they there?
The trail to the view, just past these old building is spectacular:

And the view from this trail,...,...,
Well, YOU be the judge:

.
Vista Ridge Trail begins right there at the old building foundations.
It goes silently past the quaint little Forest Lake, "Perry Lake":

This is not the main trailhead that all the Portlanders drive their Subarus and Prius's up to......,
........this is the Hood Dweller's secret route to the Vista Ridge Trail......
