I have a bonneville. I have the large harbor freight jack, the yellow one. I put the back lift bar of the jack under the mount for the side stand. It balances fine and I can take either wheel off without blocking the other end. However, for major work, I block the other wheel and strap the bike down to the jack. It is very stable. If you leave the side stand out, it is easy to let the bike back down onto the side stand when you are done, just make sure it is all of the way out. I don't know why it would be any different for the scrambler.,
