Tent Space Map

Tent Space List – the Map

The map is kept very current, updated usually every week or two. If it's been much longer please remind me.

To add your own tent space offer to the map, post to the "Tent Space Signup Thread". Your offer will appear on the map with the next update.

ALERT: IN FEB/2015 GOOGLE WITHDREW SUPPORT FOR OPENING EXTERNAL KML/KMZ FILES WITH GOOGLE MAPS. SEE THE "BETA TEST ANNOUNCEMENT" BELOW FOR ALTERNATE METHOD

BETA TEST ANNOUNCEMENT: I've worked on an updated method of presenting this data to work around the lost GoogleMaps/KML functionality. Click here to try it out. Feedback appreciated, either by PM or reply to this thread.
Here is how to see the data in a KML/KMZ viewer:

View in your kmz software (probably Google Earth)

View in your kml software (also probably Google Earth) (same data. The KMZ version is just compressed and should download faster)

Each location marker can be clicked, displaying a text box which contains the city and state or country, the ADVrider user name, the date the offer was last updated (or confirmed via the Double Check project) – as well as a direct link back to the ADVrider.com signup post containing all available detail for that offer.

Or you can click on the offer in the index pane on the left to see the same text box.

Location markers are purposely not precise but are in close proximity – usually within 5 miles or so. Contact the person offering the space for precise location.

Enjoy!

STUFF FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO FONDLE THE DATA DIFFERENTLY:

Several versions of the files are automatically generated at each update. The data is current in all of them.

All offers:

artents.kmz
artents.kml
artents.csv (beta)

US Offers:

artentsUS.kmz
artentsUS.kml

Non-US Offers:

artentsNON_US.kmz
artentsNON_US.kml

kml and kmz files are the same except the kmz version is compressed. Nearly everything that supports one also supports the other, so kmz should normally be your preference since it is significantly smaller. CSV format is a plain text version.

Alternative US/NON_US versions were originally provided in order to split the data up to stay below a 1000 entry limit that used to apply to Google maps. These files are automatically generated by the update process, so they are still provided just in case someone has a need for them.
