I've not had any issues yet running heated grips, GPS, and 55w HID light. I've only been out for 5 days once with this setup though. No problem starting in the morning when it was about 28ºF either.
From what was posted in the other thread I believe I still have a little headroom with power. I figure if I need to run a heated jacket for winter travel, then I could use the running light instead of the HID or just use Low on the heated grips.
For now I don't see any reason to upgrade the stator for my bike.
Besides the other benefits to having a Lithium battery, like no needing a battery tender ( I don't have a garage with power) I need to use my bike to charge iGadgets and camera batteries while spending time in the back country. With the Shorai I have that capacity without worry of the bike not starting just like I have many times on my big bike.
The SAE plug I installed plugs into this double dongle thing I made to charge stuff on the road when no AC is available.
