Fender bolts straight on, but the fork guard require some convincing as the bolt holes don't quite line up. I decided to butcher the stock fender to retain the fork guard portion. Worked well and looks good, although the guards are not as tough/full converage as the 690 conversion will be. There's about a trillion posts on the high fender threads, so check them out before you start as all the lessons have been learned by inmates. Here's how mine turned out using the 690 SMC fender (was the only one I could find in white).
