FS39, Hess Rd., & Kleinschmidt
FS twists and turns it’s way down to the bottom of Hells Canyon and the Snake River.


Hess Rd and Kleinschmidt Grade are both dirt and fun riding, they can be a bit slick if it’s raining.


FS39


The Hells Canyon overlook is about 2 miles down a paved rd. from FS39 and worth a stop. Bonus for the ladies: There’s a restroom there.


The road in and out of the overlook is fun to ride.


You can take Hess Rd. to the bottom of the canyon or continue on FS39 which is paved.

There is fuel at the bottom of the canyon at Scotty’s :
2 miles southwest of Oxbow, Oregon on Oregon Hwy 86, in the community of Pine Creek.



On the other side of the river is Kleinschmidt Rd and is worth a ride.


The view from here is awesome but you’ll have to go find out for yourself
