Took it out yesterday and it ran beautifully for about 40 of 45 minutes. Five minutes from home the left cylinder started loading up again.
Knew immediately that the left float needle was sticking again. Pulled the carbs and installed one given to me by a GR rider in PA. Seems to be running well again. The old needle is permanently out of service.
Figured out why my choke was sticking and resolved that while I had the carbs off as well.
I pulled the Superbike bars off the other day. Just hurt to ride it longer than about 25 minutes. Went back to the MX bars I had installed a year ago. Resolved the neck pain and nerve numbness kicked up by the lower bars. I can also see things in my mirrors--an ongoing issue with the narrower bars. The MX bars don't look as classic, but they feel WAY better. That'll do for now.
So, starter issue resolved, carb flooding issue taken care of, neck pain gone--should be good to go until the neck
