Well after 6 and a half months and $1400.00 my 1976 DT250C Flat Tracker is basically finished. I say basically as at the last minute I found that the retaining nut for the primary front cog was nearly stripped and Im awaiting its arrival before I can test ride the bike. However its is a goer as you will see. Ive had fun building the bike. The best thing was tracking down the parts I needed.
As for the parts,(Ive already mentioned this) the motor has new crank bearings, conrod, big and small end bearings, piston and rings. As well as a full seal kit. The barrel is on its 4th oversize so if I need to go any bigger I will need to source a newer barrel. Theres also new swing arm bushes, YSS shocks, fork seals, dust seals, and a host of other bits and pieces.
As for the body. I recovered the seat myself and the tank is a 1976 DT100 tank as I could find a decent tank here in Australia and all the tanks in the US or UK were out of the question due to the postal costs.
Well there you have it.
And here it is.
