The grips you bought look exactly like the stock ones for the F650GS single and the R1150GS too, two bikes I've owned before. I had a new set of spares from the single kicking around so I used your instructions and replaced some worn ones on my wife's 650 twin. Took about 20 minutes to do the whole job!

I had some denatured alcohol and that worked perfectly to lube the new set.
