Indeed, the road was firm

Coming down over the pass, we spied our next set of landmarks, The Ruby Lake Wildlife refuge, and Station Butte (6319ft.) both of which we'd be clipping to the south.

What a beautiful day! To our north was the Ruby marsh,

but we were heading for the hills on the other side of the valley,

Looking back across the marsh, there's still snow in that range, the peaks are above 10,000ft.

"I came into this game for the action, the excitement; go anywhere, travel light... get in, get out... wherever there's trouble, a man alone... Now they got the whole country sectioned off; you can't make a move without a form." --Robert De Niro as Archibald 'Harry' Tuttle in Brazil, 1985.
