The wheels (hub), frame, and engine of the bike are not allowed to be replaced. They're marked with paint during the initial check-in.

That's why tire changing speed (with mousse's or tire balls) are a big deal. You only get 15 mins at the end of the day and 10 mins at the beginning of the day to work on your bike. The tires they use have lower profile knobs so the rear is spent in a day and a front might last two.
