If you saved the broken parts I'd mail them back to Wunderlich for failure analysis ... and maybe free replacement
When you pay that much for a shifter you don't expect fatigue failure after three or four years...

Now I have to go look at mine, I have the same one ......................

Just went out and checked mine, it's fine... but I did not install the cable from the front of the shifter back to the gearbox...
If you travel through a lot of high weeds/brush I wonder if the cyclic load applied via the "anti-fouling" cable is what did it in?
(It still should not have failed... )
