your bike/tire combination sounds about right for the sand. While my reports here are for the most part about sandy roads, I still do probably 80 per cent pavement so I compromise with a less aggressive tread and the heavier KLR. there isn't a lot of traffic most of the time, but I've met just enough pick ups and farm implements taking up most of the road to keep me below the 60mph range. Anyway its all fun!
