I too was surprised when it did it to me the first time. They are better than the CV's but like you say, still do act up.
I'm wondering what the actual cause is? Is it the high G's that cause the floats to sit lower and so stay open thus causing the overly rich running?
It seems to me that whoops cause it to run very rich. I had a guy behind me once who thought my bike had caught fire, when the bike finally stalled flames were coming out the exhausts.
I often wonder where that road goes? And that, has usually made all the difference. Appologies to Mr Frost
