Slapped the KTM heated grip kit on my 690 today. Had the same kit previously, as this kit works better than anything else I've found. I have the symtec kit on my 990, they work, they're just not strong enough, require considerably more time re installation, and have only 2 settings.

here IMHO is the the pro/cons:
- great power (heat) and control; ie: even the 1st setting (green light) is nice and toasty, and you can crank it all the way to the 4th setting (red) for those who enjoy flaming hands. Personally, I've never had to use the 4th setting.
- inline fuse is useful re protecting the electronics.
- wish the grips themselves werent so thick as this affects the feel when riding off road (call me sensitive)

and of course, this all significantly depends on the type of glove your wearing...
