And yes, I certainly agree, we DO have a spending problem.
It was Kennedy/Johnson that declared that a war on poverty (how's that working out?) would be meaningless without a war on drugs. According to them, our inner cities were plagued with mind and motivation robbing drugs.
They spent billions (of our money) to irradicate both drugs and poverty from the inner cities and build instead a "great society". Because that's what government does best! They build great societies (that end up like Greece).
