Southeast France is one of my favorit playgrounds in Europe - the scenery, the roads, the people and not least the food is something special.
I find that the best time to visit is early spring or late fall - the weather is not to warm, there is less traffic, it's easier to find a place to sleep and the price level is more reasonable than in the high season.

It's nice to see that you share your passion for motorcycles and traveling with your son - a thing that many choose not to do (often dictated by the mother maybe..?)
