My first impulse was that they would incorporate a swashplate...but with their design, they'd have to coordinate four swashplates....that's ridiculous.
I think a torque differential is the right approach. HID requirements have to be pretty darn intuitive, and will most likely minimally involve the hands...certainly not fingers.
