My group was on top of the next butte to the south, Mahogany Butte, about a week earlier. Wind was absolutely HOWLING.

About where MasterMarine seemed to have lost the track, the trick to getting to the top is to keep circling toward the top in a clockwise direction - looking down on the peak. You'll then get to a somewhat flatter area just off the south side of the peak, then you can ride over the boulders and up to the top.
