Why only an inch, I'm conservative. I was concerned about getting the wheelbase too long and affecting handling. If I remember correctly 1" of length gave me almost a 1/4" of travel. The bike still turns very good so I would not be afraid to try a little more length. If you look back in my build thread a few pages you'll see the the swing arm mods and inner fender changes. These changes really had an impact on the bike, it felt like going from a playbike to an offroad bike. Before it was pretty easy to bottom the tire into the inner fender, now I can't. I recently had a chance to ride this and my KLR back to back. I was hoping this bike would be a more powerful KLR, but what I got is a far superior bike. This rear suspension with the mods and R1 shock works really good and the KLX front is awesome.
You mentioned something about a KTM comparison with your bike, care to share more?
