I run with baffle in because of the noise.
I did a lot of experimenting with a 680cc single cylinder bike and a more open exhaust. No dyno, just a stretch of 7% grade marked off in increments. A carbed bike. I ran it with and without the air box lid, different jetting and a host of different length baffles.
It all made a difference where in the rpm range the power came on. Short story was, it made more power higher in the rpm range with an open exhaust, but it always came at the expense of low rpm power.
I think FI can negate some of that, by fine tuning the afr on the go, but I really question how rich a mixture the stock mapping can provide. I saw a 14.4 afr on a dyno with the stock can, but flow more air and the ratio should be higher. so I suspect the result will be similar.
