Well, that annoying "bump" I started feeling in the handgrips on the way back from Vermont got to the point I could feel it in the footpegs too. Initially I was blaming the Vermont roads for beating my steering neck bearings to pieces
, but as it turned out, my chain master link was failing. Only got about 10,000 miles out of it, not good. So I put on a new chain and sprockets.
Then I went for a little shakedown run. I had also re-shimmed my cush drive rubbers, so it feels like a new bike.
I dropped by to see my friend Ronnie, it's been a while. We have done several trips together over the years (Maine, Key West, The Natchez Trace) but he's decided to stop riding and even sold his bike.
