You can take the majority of it out, enough to be acceptable, but it isn't a cheap mod to do. There are only one or two people who will do it because the spoke angles in the rear hub have to be altered. There's also an adapter to buy to convert the airhead gearbox output flange to take an 1100 driveshaft - you also need to sort out some way of mounting an upright shock where the battery normally sits and you will need a custom made rear shock.

You could always fit a Paralever GS/R swinging arm and rear wheel but that may not be look your going for, the parts are expensive and not easy to find.
