Weren't the Mono's a retro bike ? BMW make the K bike and wanted to drop the twins, but customer demands made them keep the airheads. There was no way they were on par with a modern bike of the era - gutless and heavy, but they still sold. The R80 and R65 were given K suspension and wheels, and kept the traditional BMW look....and as for the last production run of the Basic - how retro can you get ?
