Starting day 2 off with breakfast in the Lodge.
And a panoramic video of the lake.
Then it’s time to address with the mechanicals we were too beat to deal with last night.
Early yesterday Dave sheared off the rear brake pedal on his KLR and simply rode most of the day without a rear brake!
The lever was bent 90 degrees out and worse the bracket holding it to the subframe broke in half at the bolt!
So, as Dave wrenched…
The rest of us hovered around him offering advice.
In the mean time, Dale and Don are busy trying to straighten out the lever by using the trailer and leverage.
Video
Dave takes the semi straightened lever down to the marina shop hoping to find someone with an aluminum welder.
In the meantime, Eric’s disintegrating boots need attention. We apply a professional “trail” fix.
Dave returns with success on the weld job. Add some duct tape and zip ties and we are back in business!
Up next, we head south up into the Prospect OHV…
