New chain on. Tried again to start - no luck.
Checked the spark again and saw it was weak and not sparking correctly over the point.
New D8EA plug
test again - no spark
started checking wiring and then found one of the wires from the battery which has been soldered onto a small black component has come off.
and i have no idea what that small component is?
