These orange ones my brother made of 3M vinyl have been on since July. No problems with adhesion, but they have a few minor gas bubbles. Just about time to change them out... hmmmm, may go with a multi-color logo this time.
The full wrap didn't last too long before bubbles appeared almost everywhere, but using the smaller decals seems to work better (more exposed surface area for out-gassing?). Also, the TechSpec tank pads are still holding in place with no bubbles underneath, either.
Narsisco, can your brother get perforated
vinyl label material? When I had my Aprilia RXV550 it had a black plastic polyethylene tank and the OEM tank labels were lightly perforated with pinholes, I assume for the out-gassing. Worked great. They stayed on for years of rough treatment. Tough to get labels to stick to low energy polymeric surfaces, such as the x-linked polyethylene these tanks are made from, takes a special adhesive.
