As long as you are plated you are good!
it opens up areas that are legal to ride other then the OHV area.

Honestly the OHV area is the wasteland of the Anza borrego desert and the rest of the desert is a wonder to see and explore. Having a street legal vehicle opens up the true borrego desert!!
I use the term "street legal" loosely. I will be rolling my 2010 450 XC-W and yes it is street legal.

Anything that gets too gnarly you can just sit back and watch us hit things and maybe take some pictures!
The trails out there are doable on most any bike riding from place to place.
but there are also some technical spots and some big air opportunities.
