Piston looking good.

My mechanic gave the cylinder a tiny hone, here it is before cleaning after the hone:

The head: Valves in good shape. Some ever so light scoring on cam journals, but not bad enough to worry about:

Below is the part that failed, post repair.

At some point in the bike's life the bearings on the top had failed and Khmer mechanics had welded on a similar item from a car - a common fix here.

This type of repair never lasts too long because the car item is not designed for motorcycle engines compression. Also, it was missing two thrust washers which can be seen in the picture below of the repaired item and the old, busted roller bearing set from the car.

Should b back on the road tomorrow running as well as ever.
