The Spaniard seems to have wrapped up his win, whereas Robby Gordon managed to get his car going again and finished the special 10′35″ down. Sainz took the lead both in the stage and in the general classification, ahead of Lucio Álvarez (+8″), Guerlain Chicherit and Nasser Al-Attiyah (both +10″). Ronan Chabot showed the strength of Team SMG by finishing fifth, 22″ ahead of Krzysztof Hołowczyc, who clocked the same time (+34″) as Leonid Novitskiy and Stéphane Peterhansel. Giniel de Villiers (+35″) and Nani Roma (+37″) also finished in the Top 10. Régis Delahaye and Pascal Tomasse drove their MD Rallye buggies to eleventh and twelfth, respectively.
