Ratty, ugly, needs some minor work, etc. is not a huge issue. Beat up KLRs, DRs, 250 Ninjas, and so forth are what I have in mind. Nothing pretty as the bike will likely live outside quite a bit and be ridden almost daily.

Not sure if this is in the ball park.
Its not ratty, I would go so far as to say it looks pretty decent, but I thought it was a good deal for $1200.
I have seen worse ones for about the same.
