Do the Wolfman or GL bags alleviate this problem, even when going fast/uphill? I'd like to keep the bag big enough to store a DSLR with a 5"-ish lens and some very small bits (phone, cords, earplugs, pills).
That's something I really like about the Giant Loop tank bags. They are cut forward to stay out of the way.
This is the Fandango and you can see how it's cut:
Of course it also depends on how tall you are and your inseam. I'm 5'10" -31" inseam I think.
This is what Motorcycle Tripper fit in the Fandango in "camera lingo" to give you a reference:
- 1 large scale SLR Camera (Cannon 30D)
- 1 pocket camera
- 1 wide angle lens
- 1 Telephoto lens (70-200 2.5 ISM)
- 1 Sony HD video camera
- 1 fleece sweater
- 1 lens cleaning kit
- 70 business cards
- 4 Spare Camera batteries
- 1 smartphone
- 2 AA batteries
You can find the whole run down here:
The Diablo (Fandango's little brother) is 1.5" lower. Might be a tight squeeze for your camera though.
